Following the release of the their collaborative album Negroes On Ice, the OG Prince Paul (@DJPrincePaul) and his son DJ Pforreal (@DJPForReal) have begun a webseries for Dubspot entitled “Paul Vs. Paul.” Between the two of them, these guys do a great job of summing up the hip-hop generational debate that just won’t seem to go away. In this hilarious clip, they discuss the relative merits of using production hardware vs. software, boomboxes vs. ipods, and how no one from the new generation really likes the sound of old Afrika Bambaataa records.
